A poolside read!
Posted by Paula Ford on 08/05/10Wow, I was sitting by the pool when I finished the last chapter. A really great book (although I did find myself blushing a bit, Kris definitely led between an R and an X rated life!) I'd like to see Kris Karst show up in another book, another life .....

Posted by Joyce on 05/13/09This book is a must read for the Summer. Short Not too sweet ,Humorous, This book could fit Fiction, Non Fiction, or self help. An easy read that keeps you interested to the end.I especially like the way , he shares his lesson in the beginning of the book. Very unconventional and you somehow feel that D.K. is going to be a unconventional author. Im looking forward to your next book

First and foremost....READ THIS BOOK...
And this part 2 is a quickie...and quickies are underrated...
This book is easy to finish in any home library [i.e. bathroom too] it is really quite a page turner...and I am impressed by the wealth of knowledge the author demonstrates on a variety of topics...so he is either REALLY good or takes info from the BEST sources...
Buy a bunch of these books and give them as Christmas gifts...your true friends will LOVE it, the good literary types will LOVE it...those who don't like .... or !!! well, they can go to...
...end transmission....
Page Turner
Posted by Dushka on 11/21/08This is a must read! A great book for a day at the beach!
My initial reaction to the first few pages... this guy is an insensitive prick with a twisted outlook on life." I instinctively wanted to slap him and give him a piece of my mindwhat an asshole! Indeed, an asshole you find yourself rooting for how sick is that?
I was impressed with the author detail for attention in his account of Karst ìdaily grind" at the IRS and the horrific descriptions of his co-workers. I found myself wanting him to get canned and sent to jail!
My opinion of Kris changed at the point in the book when he meets the object of his affection. Oddly, I found myself empathizing with and consoling him; he showed his heart. This guy has a heart???
Like a rollercoaster, this book will take you up, twist you around, and bring you back down. It is hilarious, suspenseful and in a somewhat perverted way, romantic. It will have you hating, loving and mourning????? Kris Karst.
Will Kris return? Inquiring minds want to know!
Plane Good
Posted by Pete on 11/18/08I was in the Atlanta airport, plugging along at a nice pace, when I realized I suddenly had only about 20 minutes to catch my plane. The pacing and suspense built into the ending are fantastic and pull the reader into nervously awaiting the conclusion of Kris Karst's perilous journey. What made it even more suspenseful for myself was the fact that I was trying to finish it before I had to board the plane. I finally said fuck it, I will get to my seat and finish it onboard. I went straight to my seat and eagerly read the final 15 pages. I was able to accomplish this task while being distracted by the tight ass of a young female passenger loading the overhead bin directly next to my aisle seat. The fact that I didn't try to strike up a conversation with this fit young morsel, especially after having been tantalized by the views of countless cute beach bitch ass all over south Florida is a testament to your writing skill, and the empathy developed by the reader for your protagonist, Kris Karst.
The unpredictable nature of having Sylvia return at the end of the book strikes a fear into the reader's heart. The combustible nature of Reggie and Sylvia's relationship also has the reader wondering how it is all going to end.
This novel is a bombastic punch in the face. Filled with sarcasm, outrage, humor, and depravity, it is certainly an entertaining read. The fact it was written by a first time novelist is hard to believe.
The ending is dark and depressing, especially Sylvia's letter.
Wow!
Posted by Bryan on 11/18/08I just finished the book, and, like, wow! I could not put it down and the only thing I wish is that you'd written more.
Karst is an absolute riot.
